When I was a kid, we used Styrofoam meat trays and a dull pencil to demonstrate the printing process. This pack makes it so much easier on parents/teachers! Each piece of foam has a repositionable, adhesive backing. To use, peel and stick your foam to a board of some sort. Use a pen, pencil or stylus to draw an impressed image on the foam. Brush or roll paint (or ink) over the foam sheet. Lay a flat piece of paper over the foam and roll again. Carefully lift the paper and see your printed image! You can then get fancy and do color overlays with different plates and really get a feel for how it works to make a series of prints. Great for a classroom, co-op or at home. ~Sara
Ah, the joy of block printing...the carving of the block, the feel of the squishy ink, the roll of the brayer, and the infinite number of copies you can print - even in different colors. No art experience would be complete without a little unit on block printing! Design your holiday greeting cards, plaster the world with your special message, or put your own rubber stamp ideas to the block. Better than using potatoes, sponges, or clay to block print, as your designs will be permanent, storable, and reusable.
