Fly (Bouncing Bugs)
Little books that turn into bugs! Suitable for hangingand bouncing! A pop-up book about flies details the amazing capabilities of one of the most common insects, such as how they can hover and fly backward and taste food with their feet. A paper fly sculpture can be hung and bounced from the elastic in the back cover.
There's just something about pop-up books: captivating and appealing. But what about pop-ups that "fly"? Well, I'm taking a bit of liberty there, but these books do "bounce". Each of the square books highlights a different insect. Pages fold out to reveal cut outs, elaborate pictures and detailed information about the insect's life cycle, food gathering, home making and anatomy. Then for the finale: the last page reveals a giant (approx. 7" x 7") pop-out insect (ant, bee, fly or wasp). Tie the attached cord through a loop on the other side, and you've got a bouncing (use your imagination--flying) bug! Can you imagine a bedroom ceiling full of bouncing insects? I shudder, but the kids will squeal with delight. I would, however, recommend reinforcing the paper loop to avoid breakage. 5 1/4" x 5 1/4", 10 pp, hc. ~ Ruth
