Product Description:

Like the original, Apples 2 is intended for older students who need phonic based spelling drills. The format of the book remains the same. Approximately one spelling rule is presented per week and students apply the rule through completion of various Bible verses, puzzles, and fill-in-the-blank exercises. Exceptions to the rules are covered in separate lessons to avoid undue confusion, especially for those who may already exhibit spelling difficulties. The 150 lessons are still meant to be completed in less than 10 minutes a day. There are no spelling lists and tests, although short reviews covering the previously learned rules are provided every tenth day. This book not only reinforces some of the lessons covered in Apples, but also introduces more "advanced" phonics rules. Please note: In creating the drills used for this book, 4 Bible versions were used: KJV, NKJV, ESV, and NIV. ~ Enh

These are great for review and reinforcement of common spelling errors that are usually learned in early elementary years. My 3 boys who have used these books have commented on how great the books were to explain concepts that may not have been grasped at an earlier age.

Many of the spelling curriculums end at 7th and 8th grade. I find it helpful for my older children to have some review of spelling phonic rules - plus, they are quick and filled with scripture verses in which they find and correct the daily spelling rule error.

I have an older child that has struggled with spelling due to dyslexia. Apples 1 was helpful for learning spelling rules which helped with remembering spelling. I believe Apples 2 will continue to help reinforce spelling rules and help continue better spelling.

I used both Apples and Apples 2 Daily Drills with my two older kids many years ago. Their little brother is having trouble with spelling now, and both of them recommended that I get these books for him. They found them very helpful.

Great curriculum!
I have really enjoyed the Apples books for my older learner. The drills have helped him with spelling and I like how much scripture is used in the practice.
