Product Description:

Teaching classical music to younger students can be a challenge, but many have found Susan Hammand's Classical Kids series to be a great way to introduce the music and composers to kids. This Teaching Edition is amazing because it packages everything from the series on 14 disks. It includes the 9 CDs (Mr. Bach Comes to Call, Beethoven Lives Upstairs, Hallelujah Handel, Mozart's Magic Fantasy, Mozart's Magnificent Voyage, Tchaikovsky Discovers America, Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery, Daydreams and Lullabies, and Song of the Unicorn), 2 DVDs (Mr. Bach Comes to Call and Beethoven Lives Upstairs), and 3 CD-ROM disks. The CD-ROMs are basically the teacher's resources that can be viewed on-screen or printed out, including Comprehensive Teacher's Notes, scripts for each CD, and slideshow discussion points. Oh yes, I forgot to mention the slideshow DVD, which shows hundreds of pictures of art, architecture, and fashion from the times of the great composers and there's also a music only CD that includes some of the music without the narration. If you're serious about using Classical Kids to teach your students, this bundled edition of the entire series is certainly the way to go. All disks are stored in a hard, durable binder. ~ Rachel

Category Description for Classical Kids:

Each audio is a unique combination of music, history and dramatic story-telling, designed to both introduce children to the composers and their music. Each story includes at least one child interacting with the composer, helping the younger set to identify with a character and get a better feel for the historical time period. Trials and triumphs of the great composers are experienced. Stories are based on historical fact. Unlike the Music Masters series, which uses a narrator between musical excerpts to tell you about the composer's life, these tapes use actors and dramatization to bring the story alive. Each composer's music is featured throughout the tape, giving children a taste of their best-loved pieces. All have won Parents' choice awards and other musical awards.

Teacher Notes include additional background information, discussion topics, activity ideas and suggestions for exploring the music.

My daughter-in-law raves about this childhood favorite of hers! She put it on the Christmas list for my grandkids.

Excited to try this! This is by far the best price on the complete set anywhere; the teachers' guides seem good and are included with this set.

I saw the volume 1 set (somewhere else) and then I found your website that had vols 1&2 ... but then I saw you had this teacher's edition with all the xtras ... ooooh, had to get that. This is for my friend with a 5 y.o. daughter and her friend (same age) and the Mom wants to get them familiar with classical music. I'm a classical fan myself but don't exactly know how to teach to kids that young. I think (hoping) this is going to be just the thing! --CP

I don’t have a computer. What could I do instead of the cd rom discs?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2021
BEST ANSWER: That’s a great question! My new computer does not support cd roms...after talking to Apple they said cd roms are outdated technology. I hope the company updates the software soon. I sent an email asking the company about it but haven’t heard back. I pulled out an old laptop I had and was able to transfer the files to my Apple.
Are these products compatible with a Mac, also regular CD & DVD players?
A shopper on Aug 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There are three types of electronic media in this course. The CD-ROMs should work on your Mac as they provide pdf files. The music CD and DVDs should play on regular players as well as on your Mac assuming you can play music CDs and watch DVDs on it.
Does the Teaching Edition include Vol 1 and Vol 2 CDs?
A shopper on Jan 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does. There are 9 CDs which include the eight units from the Volumes 1 and 2 plus Daydreams and Lullabies. Additionally, there are 2 DVDs - Mr. Bach Comes to Call and Beethoven Lives Upstairs.

Great Program for All Ages
Great program for my kids of varying ages; this will get their feet wet for a life long love of classical music. There was a missing CD which was promptly replaced by the fantastic Rainbow Resources staff. I couldn’t be happier with these recordings or the first rate service I received.

The Classical Kids CDs are a wonderful addition to any music program My children (grades 1 4 5 & 7) all enjoy them Our children are able to tell about the lives of the composers and can recognize well-known works of these composers I would recommend this series to anyone wanting to implement or reinforce music appreciation in their home That said I much preferred the CDs to the DVDs although it is the same program on the CDs just without the pictures We enjoy listening to this series both at home and in the van Without a doubt my children's favourite CD in the series is Mr Bach Comes to Call We enjoyed this CD so much that it inspired us to create our own fugue Beethoven Lives Upstairs was also well received and it encouraged the boys to look for and learn a variety of piano pieces by BeethovenAlthough we did enjoy some CDs more than others I would highly recommend the entire collection
