Category Description for Let's Investigate With Nate

Featuring Nate Ball, the PBS reality show host of Design Squad, this series does a nice job of explaining scientific topics to youngsters with the help of exciting illustrations and a fun storyline. Each story takes place in a museum on Saturday before opening hours. Nate, a "daredevil scientist," gives four young kids a guided tour through one of the museum's mysterious portal doors. Once they go through a door, they are transported to a whole different part of the world. Sometimes, they even shrink to the size of a molecule! As they go on each adventure with Nate, the reader joins along, reading from the comic book-style dialogue. There are also many explanations of terms and processes throughout the book. Before the story, each book includes a brief letter from Nate. Each story is followed by an experiment for the reader to do on their own (with adult supervision). Each book is approximately 40 pgs, pb. ~ Brianna
