The Non-Fiction Letters and Sounds readers also follow the Letters and Sounds progression on a week-by-week basis (letter-by-letter). Non-fiction titles engage all learners, especially boys who may be more interest in learning facts. Every story has been written with a strictly controlled text so that children are only exposed to those letter sounds that they have previously learnt. Furthermore, tricky words are only included after they have been introduced. Builds confidence in young readers as they master the phonics code. The Non-Fiction series uses full color photography throughout. Can also be used alongside other popular schemes as book-banded reading levels are provided. The library includes include 72 different reader titles, 12 at each Phase level.

The manual, which roughly covers skills typically taught in PK through 2nd grade, is well-organized and easy to follow although it is oriented toward a classroom situation.
