Product Description:

I have personally played this game and I can tell you, it's a blast. Up to eight players race to get 10 cards. To get cards, players have to guess whether the event on the card comes before or after their cards. As the game progresses, it gets steadily harder to guess, because you must guess the time from all your cards. The cards have four different categories: Inventions & Discoveries, Sports & Leisure, Arts & Entertainment, and History. The action is fast, and you'll learn a lot. Have fun! ~ Mark

It is so much fun!

Our family has a 1996 version of this game and the adults have a lot more knowledge than the kids so the kids tend to get frustrated. I'm hoping this is a more updated version so our children will have more knowledge and find it more fun.

We don't require memorization of dates from history, so this is a fun way to reinforce when things happened in relation to other events.

Does 20th Anniversary Edition have different cards than original edition?
A shopper on Jan 8, 2021
BEST ANSWER: From the supplier:

The 20th Anniversary is the same game, same cards. Just an updated package look.
Is this new and unopened box latest edition of chronology ?
A shopper on Jul 9, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We are currently out of stock of this item and don't expect any until early September. When we get them in, they will be the latest edition.
What is the last year the cards go up to?
A shopper on Jul 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Per the publisher: Based on the manufacturing date and looking at the press sheets for the manufactured cards, the most recent date on the Chronology cards would be up to 2012.

Didn’t her Anniversary Edition but assume it’s the same. We are 3 players ages 36-75 and all enjoy it.

Bought this game for Christmas 2012 Just love it! Simple in concept so it's quick to learn and easy for kids to play as well as adults I agree with Lynne H that it helps with anchoring events & dates on the historical timeline as you learn to position them in relation to each other and that kids younger than the recommended age of 14 will enjoy it I gave my first game to a friend for her birthday because she enjoyed it so much when we played together I purchased a second game this Christmas which I gave my sister today after she fell in love with it on our holiday visit! When I first ordered Chronology I was concerned about the price but now I'm back to order my THIRD one Maybe I'll order a spare this time

We are really enjoying this game! The cards contain 858 events ranging from Tutankhamen to the Battle of Hastings to the year Coke tried to reinvent its formula It's nice that players don't need to know the exact dates but they try to figure out where events fit on a timeline I hope that this will help develop our children's understanding of the broad scope of history (and perhaps cement some dates in their memory as well) The events are varied and interesting and the descriptions provide enough information to educate those who have never heard of a given event Our 9 and 11 year olds love the game as much as the adults and we often play at the lunch table It can be a fairly quick and very interesting game
