Here's a set of Cuisenaire rods for the younger set. These are pretty cute, too! Bigger than regular rods (each ant has a 1" space, so 10 logs are 10" long) and made of a soft, pliable (and quiet) vinyl material, there are 20 double-sided logs (2 sets of 1-10). Each log has ants on one side and numbers on the other side. Preschool math possibilities abound matching, sorting, sequencing, counting, "10" number bonds (number family), addition, and subtraction. The logs are 7/8" wide (tall) and about ½" thick. A molded plastic storage tray fits inside the box; a small eight-page activity booklet is included. ~ Janice

Use colorful counting ants on soft plastic logs to practice 1-to-1 correspondence, number comparisons, addition, subtraction and so much more. Junior versions of Cuisenaire® Rods feature printed numbers on one side, equivalent ants on the reverse.
