Publisher's Description of Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger 131 Executive Edition - 8000 pieces (World War II Historical Collection)

The world's only surviving and working German Tiger tank from World War II is at The Tank Museum in Bovington (UK). It is the biggest attraction of the museum and is the real "star" among the hundreds of tanks on display! The world-renowned Tiger 131 was manufactured in 1942. In May 1943, it was captured by British forces during the fighting in Tunisia. Transported to Great Britain, it was put on museum display after the war. Having undergone thorough conservation, the 131 has stayed in its original condition including markings and the evidence of its use in wartime conditions. It truly has become a priceless memento and a living history lesson.

The Tiger "131" from The Tank Museum in Bovington is the largest model in the history of the COBI company. It has been extremely carefully designed in a large 1:12 scale and measures 70 cm in length (27 inches)! To build such a huge model, we used about 7,800 high-quality elements that weigh nearly 6 kg (13 pounds). The realism of the construction is enhanced by specially designed blocks reproducing the appearance of the characteristic wheels and tracks that actually roll when you push the tank. The blocks have high-quality prints that do not wear off during use and the carefully selected colors refer directly to the museum piece. The block model includes a detailed recreation of the interior of the turret and hull, as well. Under the opening hatches and flaps you can admire the crew compartments and a realistically recreated engine, which consists of several hundred elements and could be a separate model by itself!

This set is designed for the biggest enthusiasts of military technology, history and block modeling. About 7,800 elements mean a building process lasting many hours, through which an intuitive manual consisting of several volumes will guide you. For ease of construction the build has been divided into stages, for which the blocks are divided in numbered bags. We guarantee that the final construction will be impressive and that no one will pass by such a huge and detailed model without taking notice. Think about where you will put your own Tiger today. From now on, TANKFEST in Bovington will take place right in your home!

The Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger, also known as the Tiger I, was a German heavy tank that was produced from 1942 to 1944 during World War II. It was part of the German heavy tank development program aimed at creating a vehicle with powerful armament and armor. The Tiger I measured 8.45 meters long including the barrel, 3.7 meters wide and 3 meters high. Its weight reached 57 tons, which made it one of the heaviest tanks of that period. It was powered by a 700 hp Maybach HL230 engine, which allowed it to reach a top speed of about 38km/h on the road.

The Tiger I tank was armed with the powerful 88mm KwK 36 L/56 gun. This caliber gave it the ability to penetrate the armor of enemy tanks from long distances. In addition to the cannon, the Tiger I was equipped with several machine guns for defense against infantry and lightly armored targets. Tiger I production was limited due to the complex design and required production time. About 1,350 Tiger I tanks were produced, which were mainly used on the Eastern and Western Fronts.

The Tiger I tank was a symbol of the power of German armored weapons during World War II. To this day, it remains an icon of military technology and it is constantly present in literature, cinema, video games and pop culture. It also found its place in the COBI collection thanks to the unique block model released in cooperation with The Tank Museum in Bovington.
