Description

This series includes French, German, Italian, and Spanish. As a parent/teacher, I would let kids dabble in all 4 languages! It’s a little language buffet! I like this series for middle grade students to try on different languages in a fun and casual way prior to selecting one to study for more formal high school credit. The books have a clever flap function. Once you practice a page, use the book flap to cover the English translations and test yourself! A free audio app provides recordings for the student to model and ensure they are learning the correct pronunciations. You can use the schedule as it is, or extend the lessons with more practice and repetition. You get a good survey of beginner speak: greetings, food, dates, travel, shopping, and more. This would be very handy for a traveler of any age to get an exposure to the language ahead of time. This is not a high school credit option. ~Sara
