Description

Having something weighted on your lap can be very calming for a child (or an adult!). This is a soft and fuzzy artificial puppy, so adorable, named Theo. He brings a smile to your face as you pet his soft fur and stroke his velvety paws. The eyes are embroidered and the nose is soft, not plastic, and safe for small children. In his belly is a removable pouch that smells faintly of lavender. I had to really roll it in my hands to get the scent, but I imagine it would be more pronounced if you heated the pad a bit. This faint scent is a good thing as some children are overwhelmed by a strong fragrance, even a natural one. It is not too heavy at 2.5# (1kg). The paws are weighted with beads you can roll around and they feel like a hug around your neck. Kids will love the softness but keep this in mind for seniors who may be missing a pet. He is a very calming presence. ~Sara

Meet Theo the Therapy Dog! This fuzzy lapdog is specially designed to function as a comforting companion. With a 2.5 lbs body weight, this lovable and cuddly friend can provide a sense of security to children with sensory input needs. Theo's soft, floppy body can lay across your lap or shoulders, and even sit-up beside you. He's just the right size for carrying along to the Dr.'s office, the dentist, over-night visitations, or any unfamiliar environment that can raise stress levels. And, he's the perfect lapdog for older adults who are struggling with Alzheimer's, dementia or social isolation. His warm, heavy body feels lifelike, which can help to relieve stress and sharpen focus, without the responsibility of caring for a live animal. The beads, fur, paw-pads, ears, eyes and nose all provide unique textures for tactile exploration. The hook and loop pocket in his tummy holds a pouch of ceramic beads that emits a gentle lavender aroma. Remove the pouch to heat in the microwave, or chill in the fridge, then replace, for soothing temperatures anyone can love! Includes: plush therapy dog, 2.5 lbs. (1134 g), 1 hot/cold pack.
