This is a great workbook to help little hands to start learning writing strokes, shapes, colors, letters, and numbers. The workbook comes with a black dry-erase marker, but this book would really benefit from having colored dry-erase markers, as there are instructions to color the diamonds red or the ovals blue. Directional arrows help in constructing letters and each letter is associated with an image: goat for G, penguin for P, a bear in a boat for B. There are lots of independent activities like the mazes, tracing, and coloring for your little's. Then there are other activities, like beginning sounds and matching that might facilitate some sit-down time with mom or dad.
