Henrik Ibsen's most famous play in this 72 page book. At the time of its publication, this play raised quite a few eyebrows because of its statements about the unequal institution of marriage. The main character, Nora, is treated as though she is an empty-headed child by her patronizing husband, Torvald. However, Nora is a lot smarter and stronger than she lets on. We see her in the beginning secretly disobeying her husband's rules, and then ultimately she asserts herself, much to the shock of her husband. Along the way, we meet various characters who took part in her transformation.
