Category Description for Grid Perplexors:

How's this for a perplexing puzzle? In "Mice Ahoy," three mice decide to test their sea legs. Each mouse boards a different ship, and each voyage lasts a different number of days. Afterwards, the mice decide that they are not cut out for sailing because of various ailments. Using the information provided in the story along with some additional clues, can you determine which mouse boarded what ship, for how long, and why he quit sailing? A grid is provided for you to organize, track, and eliminate possibilities until you are left with the correct solution. Each book is packed with 50 logic puzzles. What an entertaining way to sharpen your deductive reasoning skills! ~ Anh

Are the activities in this book the exact same ones that are in the Perplexors book WITHOUT the grid?

BEST ANSWER: No, the puzzles between the books are completely different. I have found that my children respond differently to the two styles...one child loves the grid style, the other child loves the "cross out/circle" style. Both books provide the same level of critical thinking puzzles.

My 10 year old son loves this book Everyday he asks to do a "thinking page" as he calls them It makes him think using the clues He used to be a reluctant reader but since finding this gem of a book he enjoys reading the short story and then the clues to find the answers It isn't easy; just challenging enough to enjoy The prices are great so we can get the rest without feeling like we are taking too much from the school budget
