Product Description:

This was Mark's very favorite book when he first began reading. It literally accompanied him everywhere, as he determined to read it from cover to cover - and he did, several times (most of it out loud, so Bob and I developed an appreciation for its content). It's based on the NIV version of the Bible with captivating text and lively artwork retelling 106 of the best-loved Bible stories so that young readers can easily read and understand them.

My husband or I would read a story a night to our children. They are adults now and still have fond memories of story time. The illustrations are amazing. I'm buying this now for a baby shower gift so that other families can create memories based on God's word.

We bought this Bible for our oldest son when he was about 2 years old The text follows the Scriptural account of the Bible stories that are included quite well (using the NIrV) and it is one of the few children's Bibles we have found that actually mentions "sin" instead of just "doing bad things" or "disobeying God" This was very important to us as we believe we need to call it what God Himself calls it Our son loved it and the book was well-read and well-loved through the next few years It finally completely fell apart--I am unsure whether it was due to shoddy construction or just frequent use but I tend to suspect the latter! My only criticism is that the pictures are very "cartoony" with characters that have googly eyes etc I would love to see more realistic pictures simply to distinguish the most important Book in the world from all other children's books--especially since the intended audience is young children This drawback is not great enough however to keep me from purchasing it again Obviously the attitude of the parent toward a children's Bible would prevail over cartoony illustrations!
