Aligned to California state standards, each grade level provides self-directed instruction with minimal teacher supervision. Grades 3-8 complete twelve units (booklets) per year, with a suggested 3 week completion time frame. Grades 9-12 complete 5 booklets per semester or 10 per year. Consumable booklets are colorfully illustrated soft cover, although newer printings are more like booklets and do not have the perfect binding and glossy covers. Each grade level incorporates vocabulary lists, fill in the blank questions, chapter reviews, and unit tests, and writing assignments including reports and term papers. Please see publisher website for CA state standards correlation. Sold only as complete sets which include answer and test keys. ~ Deanne

Such a disappointment
Very poorly edited. Lots of spelling errors and questions are numbered incorrectly. Topics are barely covered. Frequently the entire days lesson consisted of two or three short paragraphs of reading, three T/F questions and two fill in the blank questions. I wasn't looking for an intense program but this was such basic information it was ridiculous. The chapters didn't flow together well or offer much transition between chapters of the same unit. The exact same questions are asked in a daily lesson, then again on the chapter review and again in the unit review and untit test. The unit reviews and tests are identical. The teachers answer key only shows answers for T/F and fill in the blank. Any Venn diagrams, short answer and essay questions say "student answers will vary". On a very rare occasion it might tell you that the answer should include information from a certain chapter, but not often. Do yourself a favor and find a different curriculum.

Nope
This was an awful purchase. Needs to be edited for not only content but grammar as well. The attempt to incorporate "character building" was faith based in some areas. Did not even really make a good work sample. We recycled it.
