One day Ping gets careless, and too afraid to take his punishment, he decides to hide instead of joining his family on the boat.

Apart from making my kids sure to find the Yangtze river on the map and making for an interesting story I liked the moral of this story : evading the unpleasant consequence of one action by taking another wrong one will neither bring good nor saving you from what you intended to escape

I can't wait to buy this book! Our first FIAR book and what a great book to start the series! The story line is simple yet captivating to small children (even those who have a hard time sitting to listen to a book)! Worth every penny!
