Phonics Flashcards and Charts
Designed for use with Level A, these present both upper-and lower-case letters. Information is printed on the back of some of the cards to help teach consonant blends.
The Adventures in Phonics: Flashcards and Charts introduce and drill the upper- and lower-case letters of the alphabet and most diphthongs, digraphs, blends, and modified sounds used in the English language. The front of each card shows the letter or phonics sound, while the back provides the instructor with a pronunciation guide. The charts contain listings of words that follow each phonics rule and are designed to reinforce the phonics sound being presented.

Drill, repetition, and writing activities are used to help ensure comprehension. The Adventures in Phonics: Phonics Sounds and Teaching Tips cd offers proper pronunciation of vowels and consonants along with tips for teaching beginning readers. It can be used alongside any phonics program, but is designed for use with Adventures in Phonics: Level A. I’m very impressed with the scope of these books. Most other phonics books "stretch out" the introduction of phonograms over several workbooks.
Programs in this section go beyond teaching children how to read, incorporating phonetic readers, spelling and writing as well. Arranged roughly by grade/age.
