The first thought that popped into my mind was, "Isn't this a bit early to start a second language?" Well, several studies have shown that the best time to introduce a new language is actually from birth to age five. Research has also shown that children who have had a small amount of second-language instruction tend to become better problem solvers and more creative thinkers than those who have not. So why shouldn't your baby be a Bilingual Baby?
These 45-minute language DVDs are colorful, stimulating, and sure to capture your child's interest. They use a total immersion approach only the target language is heard. Simple nouns, verbs, and sentences are carefully introduced by a series of clear visual images while classical music is softly played in the background. Vocabulary in the target language is displayed in large on-screen letters, while smaller English translations are briefly flashed on-screen for the benefit of the parents. The entire dialog is printed on a fold-out panel on the video's slipcover. Vocabulary includes numbers, colors, manners and phrases (please, thank you, hello, good-bye, etc), and familiar words and sentences (boy, eat, apple, the boy eats the apple, etc.). ~ Anh
