Well-suited
Saxon Algebra Home Study Kit with Teacher CD-ROM has made all the difference with my daughter's pre-algebra struggles. She can progress with confidence and good instruction with the CD-ROM. We are very pleased with the materials.

Looking for video tutoring and am hoping this will be what will help!

I have used Saxon Algebra 1/2 (and other Saxon products), but all material burned in a house fire. We now have three adopted teens that we are homeschooling. Hopefully this will help get them up to speed!!

We have used Saxon Math for our students for years now. We like the repetition and feel it is a good product. Our kids like to be able to look up answers to problem questions on the CD-ROM.

The Saxon Teacher CD-Rom makes learning algebra straightforward and manageable for the average or struggling student. My daughter has gained confidence, ability, and independence through use of the Teacher CD. My method of teaching math was not the best; the Saxon Teacher CD was an immediate success! My daughter does well with the Teacher CD and is now enjoying math.

I've used Saxon for several years and used the Algebra 1 Saxon Teacher CD-Rom with my older son.

The CD gave me extra help for teaching Pre-Algebra, which is great when it's been a few years and you have several kids to home school!

I previously owned this set, sold it to try Teaching Textbooks. However, we are going back to Saxon. Nothing beats it.

I am a fan of the Saxon homeschool math program and one of my children needs this extra step before moving on to full blown Algebra. I'm encouraged that this will help to solidify the concepts as he wasn't as proficient in Math 8/7 as I would've liked. I am also looking to add a different instruction perspective to the mix on top of my own.

We 'tried' public school for my 7th grader last year. I withdrew her because she was failing math (and too much drama). I filled in her "Math Holes" with Saxon and then started her on lesson 80 of Saxon 8/7. She then studied independently and ACED every single lesson thereafter! Super proud of her! So here's my question: Is pre Algebra necessary or can I go straight to Algebra 1? I wouldn't normally consider it but she got 100s on every assignment from Saxon 8/7 lessons 90-120! I even hid my grade book and watched her work a lesson, thinking she might have cheated! She sure wasn't! Just needed the right tools!

BEST ANSWER: The basic criteria we use is that a student needs to get at least 80-85% on all the tests following Lessons 80-120 of Math 8/7 in order to be comfortable in Algebra 1. It sounds like your daughter has met that criteria - and then some! Both of you should be proud!
is there a teacher's guide or answer book I need to purchase with this?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It comes with the answer key which has test answers and the answers to all the daily lesson problems. The teacher DVD has a daily lesson from the teacher who goes over the practice problems in the book. She also works each problem of each lesson on the DVD which the student can click on to watch the teacher work the problem. There is no teacher lesson plan book
