Description

A cooperative 2-player version with 6 assassins, 15 shared agents, and of course several innocent bystanders! Each player sees one side of the key card - each side identifies 9 agents (3 of which are marked on both sides!), and 3 assassins. Players take turns giving one word clues to each other (and others if you have a larger group but still want the cooperative game play). Identify the agents without revealing any assassins, in nine turns or less, to win! Mission maps, for even more challenging game play, are included! Includes 200 cards (for 400 new words total); compatible with the original game.

Publisher's Description of Codenames Duet Game

You and your partner are on a secret mission to a crowded city. Your objective: to contact 15 agents while avoiding a band of enemy assassins.

You know the agents that your partner can contact safely. Your partner knows the agents you can contact safely. By giving each other one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board, you try to find all the agents before your turns run out.

Codenames: Duetincludes 400 new words so you do not need any other Codenames game to play. On the other hand, if you own the original Codenames, you can use the word cards from the two games interchangeably.

Category Description for Codenames

This competitive game pits two teams against each other in a race to uncover their secret spies. Each team votes one player to be the "spymaster." Twenty-five code name cards, each with one word, are laid out. Each word belongs to one of the teams, or is an innocent bystander; one card is the assassin. The two spymasters are the only ones who know which is which. The trick is for the spymasters to think of a one-word clue which relates to as many of their words as possible. The rest of your team works together to decide which card or cards you are trying to have them guess. Whichever team finds all of their secret agents first wins. 200 double-sided code name cards and 40 different key cards mean this game can be played over and over again. Younger players can participate even if they aren't ideal "spymasters", and it works with varying group sizes (4-8+). It's no surprise this one was voted the #1 Party Game on BoardGameGeek.com.
