Description

Alphabet Tales (sc, 110 pp, 8.5" x 8.5") reads like a story book. Children learn letters/sounds and the shapes of upper/lower case letters as they relax and enjoy the stories. There is no pressure to memorize here. Visual learners will connect the stories to the letters and your auditory kiddos will do the same. Illustrations are soft and colorful. Read this to your pre-K children to introduce the alphabet. Brief lesson plans using all 3 of the components listed below are found in the front of this book. I like how they give the teacher a guideline and some tips without putting it into a complicated lesson. This book starts with "The Story of Aain which Abner meets the ants" and has many more stories covering the entire alphabet.

From Abner Meets the Ants, to Zip and Zap Save the Day, each letter is represented by a loveable character your family will never forget!

Learning is loads of fun with playmates like these! Join the memorable and lively cast of characters that make up our stylized alphabet who will teach your child all the letters, and their corresponding sounds. Perfect for family time, bedtime or anytime reading! Alphabet Tales now includes hands-on follow-up activities which are excellent for beginners, and also for quick remediation for children who are shaky on letter sounds.

Why This Alphabet?

* Each letter in the alphabet is designed to match its shape - the F is a FLAG, for example.

* Images make it easy for children to learn sounds

* The images and stories make it impossible for the child to forget the letter and its sound - one of the most fundamental and necessary skills needed for learning to read!

Category Description for Alphabet Tales

Combine stories, images, and actions to get a unique way to help your visual, kinesthetic, and auditory learners remember letters and sounds! Alphabet Tales reads like a storybook. Children learn letters/sounds and the shapes of upper/lower case letters as they enjoy the stories. Visual and auditory learners will connect the stories to the letters. Illustrations are soft and colorful. Brief lesson plans using all 3 of the components listed below are found in the front of the book. Alphabet Teaching Cards have color images on one side that show the letter with physical features and an accompanying phrase emphasizing that letter. The back of each holds a writing tip ("Make a thin man, put your pencil on the belly button and make a short slide going up and away from you...") and a follow up activity (kick a ball and make a K with your body). Writing the Visual, Kinesthetic & Auditory Alphabet is a multi-sensory resource designed to help teach children their letters - hand motions for each letter (for both right and left-handed children) letter formation, extension activities, and tips for preventing letter reversals. If you have a right-brained learner, these books give some good ideas that can carry over to other subject areas. ~ Sara
