See my review on the teaching manual
As said in my review on the teaching guide for this series, the topics covered are covered well, the problems challenging. But it requires a parent to be very involved and/or very good at math or willing to learn the concepts along with the student.

Because Singapore has the best problem solving methods available and incredible work with mental math. I want to see how these upper level books handle the problems.

I've been using Singapore Math for 7 years. It's an excellent, concise, broad thinking math program that uses critical thinking skills applicable in all areas of life.

Does this text follow directly after Primary Mathematics 6A?
A shopper
on Oct 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not really ... It's quite a departure from the format we were used to in Primary Mathematics. 6A has 6B following it, and then you should be academically prepared to move to this text, however, I wish I had known how very different it would be, which made it feel like a big jump in terms of difficulty, too. There is no "instructor's guide," for example, for teachers in classrooms or home educators just a solution guide, which sometimes isn't as detailed as I would like it to be! We have used a lot of Khan Academy for help in actually teaching the content.

To be honest, I'm hoping it does!! I am just finishing up 6B with my oldest, and will be moving into the 7A come January, hopefully. I have 3 sets of the 7th and 8th grade levels already. This is what I saw on the Singapore Math site, so I purchased it.

No. You need to complete Singapore Primary math 6B prior. In researching the middle school math pathway, the curriculum person at Singapore stated ghat 7A Dimensions should be started after completion og 6B.

This text follows Primary Mathematics 6B. Level 6 is mostly review and some people skip it, but Dimensions is pretty challenging so I'm glad we didn't hurry into it.

No, Primary Mathematics 6B follows 6A. However, if your student is strong in maths and is not challenged by 6A, you can move on to Dimensions Mathematics.
