If you are looking for details on how to solve each practice problem this will not provide that (I think the solution manual does though, so that might be what you want if you need help working the problems).
For me, the nice thing about this teacher's book is all the helpful tips that definitely aid in my teaching of the lessons, and the way they break down each lesson into how many days. And, of course, having the answers to correct work!

I have previously used Primary Mathematics Standards Edition which required the home instructor's guide, textbook, and workbook for each semester. I just want to make sure I am purchasing the complete set...

The teacher's book shows exactly what is in the student's book (which goes through all of the lesson which explains how to do those particular set of problems) and it provides the answers to all of the questions. The answers are in red, so they are easy to see. It shows solutions for the lesson questions and the practice questions your child will do on their own. It also gives lots of helpful tips and tricks as side notes on each page, and breaks down each lesson into days (so you know how much would normally be covered in 1 day, each lesson says how many days it takes to cover).
If you are looking for details on how to solve each practice problem this will not provide that (I think the solution manual does though, so that might be what you want if you need help working the problems).

They do supply the answers but explanations to the answers are few and far between. I've had to google a lot. It helps me to figure out how to explain to my daughter how to solve the problems. Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The teachers book helps me to lesson plan. I also bought the tests and extra practice. I would recommend them if you go with this curriculum. Reply

I am only in chapter 1 of this course. I do not like the format of the text as much as previous Math in Focus curricula. The teacher's manual does provide the answers so far. It feels less user friendly than previous editions. Reply

The teacher's guide does provide all the answers from the text but a lot do not explain how they got the answers. That was the frustrating part about this book. Reply

Yes, we would not be able to make it without the teachers book. It explains the lesson provides extra problems and walks you through the answers. Reply

Vote for the best answer above! If I purchase Math in Focus Course 1 Grade 6 Homeschool Kit 1st Semester and Math in Focus Course 1 Grade 6 Homeschool Kit 2nd Semester, I only need to also purchase Math in Focus Course 1 Assessments. (which is the workbook that would be for both semesters, right?) Would this be complete or do I need something else?

During each lesson there is a guided practice which my children and I went over together. At the end of each lesson there is an assignment which I had them complete on their own. At the end of each chapter there is a chapter review / test which they also completed. I felt they grasped the concepts and didn't need the extra practice. I have used the workbook for other grades for added practice, I have not used the assessment books. Reply

I never had to purchase the assessments, but according to their description one set (order) of assessments covers both semesters. The assessments aren't workbooks, but almost like tests for your child to make sure they're mastering the material. Hope this helped. Reply
