This has made science even better! And less work for Mom when you have multiple kids My two girls 9 and 11 learned MORE than I thought they would It is very easy to use and they have included a lesson plan for you Which has made it even easier for making my lesson plans Easy to use for more than one child and different learning styles due to all of the different activities included I find it easier to use than lap books but my children learned just as well I think it is money well spent

This notebooking journal is great for reinforcing the material my kids are learning in the textbook. Everything this busy mom needs is already in there with very little to no prep for me! Works best for older elementary kids as there is a bit more writing expected than in the junior journal.
Stephanie S on Aug 5, 2016

Is this a sufficient science program for a 7th grader? Looking for a "family" science. Next year we will have a 7th, 6th, 3rd and a 2nd grader.
A shopper on Apr 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think yes. My oldest is in 6th and I have a 4th grader also. The info is fairly in depth and you can tailor it to different levels. For example, I require more detailed writing and drawings from my oldest. I would go for the junior notebook for 2nd, maybe 3rd graders depending on the child. There are neat mini books they put together which require help for each lesson. For my 6th grader, I let her do more independent reading and lab work on her own. There are also suggestions in the notebook for more projects. It is very flexible. I really appreciate the way the book brings in Gods design often. The notebook is worth it in my opinion because it provides the templates and mini books and a record of their work for keeping. We're enjoying it!
Is the notebooking journal necessary for this course?
A shopper on Mar 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, the notebooking journal is not necessary for the course. The main text gives you much information and directs you to projects that will help your student retain the information. That being said, I have found the notebooking journals to be extremely helpful in solidifying the information for my children. For each chapter of the text the notebooking journal gives numerous activities: from coloring pages and copy work (print and cursive) to crossword puzzles, diagrams to label, and flip books to create. There is much more. I have taught through most of the volumes in this series and my children have greatly benefitted from the use of these notebooks.
