Description

This is a fun activity to do with your middle school age+ kids. They will use the sponge to divide up a grid as a paleontologist would and then start excavating one square at a time using the wet sponge, chisel, and hammer. Be careful to throw away the leftover plaster pieces, as they can be sharp. Use the instruction manual to perform salt water/fresh water experiment and follow the step-by-step instructions on how to make origami boxes to store your creatures in. Information about the tools and each creature is provided in the check it out section. The kit contains excavation block inside a plastic 5”x7” dish, hammer, chisel, sponge, instruction manual, and hidden ocean creatures: Whale shark, swordfish, ray, whelk, and lionfish. Not suitable for children under 7 years. Use with adult supervision. ~Amber
