Description

As the inhabitants of Everdell start to venture beyond the immediate world near the Everdell Tree, they are surprised and intrigued by the discovery of a riverbank. Upon further exploration, they find pearls! This new environment becomes Pearlbrook and Frog Ambassadors journey there to learn more about this area, its creatures and riches. Players join the critters of Everdell and gain a new spirit of adventure as they embark on the discoveries and possibilities that the Pearlbrook Game expansion brings!

Here is what Pearlbrook offers:

  1. A river board that lies to the right of the main board includes the Pearlbrook location, which the Ambassador Frogs will visit. Pearls can be found on a corner of the board named “Shoal” where critters can trade for them. Pearls are used to play new Adornment cards that each player has the opportunity to use during their turn. With two cards available for each player, pearls are spent to gain resources and unique actions. For instance, the Bell adornment card allows a player to spend a pearl resource to gain three berries and draw one card for every critter that is played in their city. The Tiara adornment gives a player one resource for every prosperity card in their city and is worth one point for every two production cards in that player’s city.
  2. Also located on the River Board are River Destination Cards that players may visit once they play certain numbers of different types of construction or critter cards. These cards furnish opportunities such as trading cards in a player’s hand to gain items such as a point token and a pearl resource.
  3. There are thirty-two new Construction and Critter Cards included that tie in with the new Pearlbrook Theme.
  4. New event and forest cards are introduced that add resource combinations and events that include new Pearlbrook constructions and critters.
  5. Four 3-D wonders add new scoring opportunities and replace Special Event tiles when using this expansion

If you have explored Everdell and look for new challenges and rewards, the Pearlbrook Expansion may be just the adventure you are seeking! For 1-4 players with a 40 to 80-minute playtime. Requires the Everdell core game to play. ~Marsha
