Description

Channie's handwriting uses a grid to help students properly space and size their letters. With cursive, the grid is slanted to the right but maintains the size and spacing continuity. The style is traditional, but sort of a Channie's version of traditional. Includes 26 practice cards with upper & lower case, 13 cards with words, 2 cards with basic practice strokes and 2 blank cards with the Channie's grid formatting. Cards are 2-sided and measure 5.5" x 4.5". ~Sara

Category Description for Channies Visual Handwriting Workbooks

If your students handwriting includes crowded letters, tiny letters mixed with huge, or other inconsistencies, they may need more boundaries on their paper. Graph paper is one option, but Channies workbooks has a different format to show learners just how big their letters should be and guide them in how close to put the letters. Lines of vertical blocks are divided into thirds, with a middle row in pale green. The lower case goes in the green section with caps and lines extending into the other two grid sections as shown. Also, between the letters, a narrow space prevents kids from writing letters that touch. While some students naturally seem to get this concept, others may need to see where to start and stop more clearly. The size of grid will decrease in different products (by grade level) to accommodate different handwriting skill levels. Another nice feature is that the inside front cover holds examples of all of the letters and numbers that they are practicing in that pad, and acts as a handy reference. We now carry homeschool reams of Channie's handwriting paper in 2 sizes. The homeschool ream has 250 sheets. The teacher ream has 500 sheets. The Alphabet Card is a small reference for students to look at while practicing. It shows upper & lower case letters plus numerals 0-9 in the grid. Glossy cardstock, 5.5x4.25". You will find this same information printed on the inside covers of writing pads. In the Easy Peasy Alphabet pad, there are 2 pages of tracing upper and lower case of all letters (and numbers 0-9) followed by a page of writing freehand on the grid. The inside of the cover shows all letters and can be used as a reference. This one does Aa-Zz plus 0-9 and a short sentence. The Quick & Neat Alphabet Pad has the reference page inside the cover. You can use this grid to practice any writing. It provides the grid for printing letters & numbers. The Quick & Neat Storytelling Pad has a printing reference with brief writing instructions inside the cover, but not on each page. Each page contains two sets of lined writing lines, with a green shaded section in the middle and a place to write name and date and an 8x3.5" blank rectangle to draw a story. The Quick & Neat Cursive pad pages are formatted like the print books, only with a slant. There are 5 lines per page, with traceable letters on two pages and a page of freehand writing. Also, the capital Q seems to be a hybrid between an O and a 2. The landscape pages of the Quick & Neat Writing Pad have 7 lines of vertical quarter inch grid on both sides of the page. With the 1/4" grid, this pad is perfect for students who are ready to scale down their handwriting size (80pp, 11x8.5"). And finally, the Handwriting/Math Workbook Christmas Edition is a boxed set including these pads: Quick & Neat Writing Pad, Quick & Neat Cursive Pad, Quick & Neat Line-Up Pad: Double Digits and One Page a Day: Double Digits.
