How long is it? How many minutes?
A shopper on Jan 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The Apologia CD-ROMs are companion CDs used in a computer. (They are not instructional videos meant to teach the chapter the way several math or foreign language videos might be designed to do.) They have short video clips to accompany the lessons. These little clips are a few seconds to a few minutes long (very brief), but our family has found them to be very helpful for reinforcing or further explaining concepts. Sometimes they introduce new, but related ideas or show experiments or demonstrations that just are not practical (or in some cases safe) for a homeschooled child to do at home. There is also vocabulary pronunciations for each chapter.
Would this be too hard for a ninth grader if all he did was listen to the text twice a week and use the Niesen coloring book to supplement?
A shopper on May 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This companion CD-ROM does not include the text, you would also need the MP3 audio CDs. Listening to the text and using a coloring book would be an odd way to complete a high school level lab science but it could be done. I think whether or not it will be too hard will depend on your student and his ability to process audio information. It is an advanced high school biology and his/her listening comprehension would need to be at a 10th grade level.
