Publisher's Description of Exploring the History of Medicine

From surgery to vaccines, man has made great strides in the field of medicine. Quality of life has improved dramatically in the last few decades alone, and the future is bright. But students must not forget that God provided humans with minds and resources to bring about these advances.

A biblical perspective of healing and the use of medicine provides the best foundation for treating diseases and injury. In Exploring the World of Medicine, author John Hudson Tiner reveals the spectacular discoveries that started with men and women who used their abilities to better mankind and give glory to God.

The fascinating history of medicine comes alive in this book, providing students with a healthy dose of facts, mini-biographies, and vintage illustrations. Includes chapter tests and index.

Category Description for Advanced Pre-Med Studies

We occasionally get requests for courses that will prepare students for careers in medicine. Whether interested in being a nurse's aid, nurse, or doctor, this series of planners and books can lay a solid foundation for a medical future. The Basic Pre-Med is ½ credit, and Advanced Pre-Med is a full high school credit. Each is laid out into 180 daily lessons that take 30-45 minutes. Suggested labs are mentioned in the front of each book, but they aren't required and are not written into the schedule. The schedule is in a chart that also provides space for assignment due dates and recording grades. Also included in each planner are worksheets for each chapter, quizzes, tests, and an answer key. Science of Life: Biology is a ½ credit study that covers an introduction to science the first semester and life science in the second semester. The first semester of Basic Pre-Med is microbiology, and the second semester is life science. The books used in Advanced Pre-Med can be studied in the sequence presented or as independent units. Lay the foundation from a biblical worldview and help your students prepare for their future. ~ Donna
