This program is amazing as all the hype. My kids struggled with handwriting before we switched, also they hated handwriting and we had tried a couple other programs. I will definitely be sticking with handwriting without tears for all my kids. It’s funny when people accidentally call it handwriting with tears. lol because it’s a easy mistake and couldn’t be further then the truth. We just use the book and chalk board.

My 5 yr old who didnt like to write anything because he thought he couldn't do it good enough loves this book.
Simple, short pages. Clear instructions. Practice tracing and then on your own. Really well laid out. Very pleased with this company. All I ordered was the workbooks, no teachers texts. And it is quite straightforward.

Love Handwriting without tears
This book is great! It helped my son catch up with his peers in handwriting, and right now it is challenging my younger daughter who wanted to learn her letters before they were being taught at her preschool.

Great program for avoiding letter/number reversals
I love this program. Not necessarily a standard style, but specifically designed to avoid letter and number reversals. Very little backward d's, b's, 9's and 6's with this program.

We love HWT!
This is our second time through the HWT workbooks - first with our oldest, and now with Child #2. We love them, I highly recommend them. They are simple, clear, basic - nothing fancy or complicated. The accessories are nice, but not necessary to have with the book. However, if your student doesn't like workbooks or struggles, the HWT apps and accessories are a fun way to differentiate the curriculum to meet your students' needs.

Good handwriting book for my Kindergartener
My 5.5 YO loves this book...2-3 pages a week. We homeschool so she does it at home. She will complete 1 book this school year. It is just right for her...maybe a little easy.

Coming back to this book for the 3rd time. The wet-dry-try method using a slate and sponge is very helpful for cementing the motions used in creating our letters.

It is helpful to have a pattern when learning to construct letters. There is a method and my little learner did well by following along!

We love Handwriting Without Tears. I love the order that they teach handwriting. Not alphabetical, but in order of the shapes of the letters. Easy to use and the kids enjoy them.

I used HWOT to get my now high schoolers started when they were little bitty ones. Now I am going to use these books with my 4 and 5 year olds. After learning their letters and numbers we transition to A Reason for Handwriting because the girls loved making beautiful bible verses for my husband to put up in his office. I loved both companies.

Our oldest struggled with penmanship due to fine motor delays, which is what led me to Handwriting Without Tears. I feel like the multi-sensory model will be a good fit for the younger child, too.

HWOT is a great system for boys who tend to develop their handwriting a little later and often a differently from girls.
I like the basic approach to letter formation, without tedious repetition.

I have a soon to be 4 year old that is extremely bright. He can already write all his letters, but I need to teach him how the letters make words if written in order on the line. I also want it to be stress free.
