Publisher's Description of Interactive Notebooks: Seasonal - Grade 5

In Interactive Notebooks: Seasonal for fifth grade, students will complete hands-on activities about decimals, finding volume, text structure, correlative conjunctions, US history, energy in plants and animals, and much more. This 96-page book contains a guide for teachers who are new to interactive note-taking, lesson plans and reproducibles for creating notebook pages on a variety of topics, and generic reproducibles for creating even more notebook pages. The book focuses on grade-specific math, language arts, science, and social studies skills and is aligned to current state standards.

Category Description for Interactive Notebooks: Seasonal

Interactive notebooks are a student-created project where they cut, paste and assemble a special notebook. The notebook has pockets, mini-books, fold-outs, flaps and other such dimensional elements with content information on them. A student uses them to learn the content, and later to review it as well. This series contains the instructions and the content to build your own personalized notebook about the seasons (there are others for math, science, and language arts). Perfect for the hands-on learner, the child can personalize their notebooks with color to help them retain the information. Clear instructions and illustrations guide the parent/teacher, but still leave the child room to make it their own. All themes are tied to an academic area of math, science and ELA. For example: apple addition with ten frames in autumn, the Gingerbread Man story elements in winter, and Sun Power – non-fiction in spring/summer (all from the grade 1 book). Student pages are reproducible for a single classroom/home. The black and white pages can be copied on to colored paper for more seasonal, themed fun! ~Sara
