Description

Packaged in a set of 30 number boards and 30 place value windows, this little cardboard tool can be used for group practice, guided practice, or individual practice. Each number board goes from 1 to 120. Punch out the center of the place value window and place it over the desired number on the number board. Around the center punch-out, there are four flaps that are labeled one less, one more, ten less, and ten more, to see the number that fits that description – just lift that flap. For example: place the center hole over the number 27. Lift the flap for ‘one less' and you will see the number 26 next to it, lift the ‘one more' flap and you'll see 28, lift the ‘ten more' flap to see 37, and lift the ‘ten less' flap to see 17. Each number board measures 5" x 6", so the board and place value windows are small enough to slide in the front of your math book for safe keeping. Manipulatives like this help students become familiar with number orientation and place value.
