Listen to the Language of the Trees

This is a delightful book that tells the story of a small tree seedling that grew in a forest full of older and bigger trees. As the seedling grows, its roots receive nourishment from other trees that help it continue to prosper and flourish. When trouble arises for another tree in the forest, the young tree and others are able to give back to help the older tree. This is an excellent read for children as it shows how trees can receive nutrients and work together to survive. Additional pages at the end of the book detail the science behind the story, show the connections to social emotional learning, and provide beneficial activities. Definitely a great read-aloud book or to use with older children as it is educational and details the benefits of listening to and collaborating with others. 32 pgs, pb.
