A great way to learn writing!
I have eight children, and I've tried probably 5 to 10 different writing products over the years, hoping one of the products would be a hit. All them failed until we tried Writers in Residence. I'm trying it with both my third and fourth children. I like that it has some grammar as well as lots of fun writing practice.

I was able to look at the curriculum at a friend's house. I thought it seemed engaging.

I chose this because I wanted something he could do almost on his own, but also walks him through each and every step of writing. I taught using the six traits method in public school so I know the program brings excellent results.

Hoping this works where many other writing programs have failed for my ASD child (who possibly has dysgraphia).

Programs teach directly to the student therefore taking less of my time are much more likely to actually get done! It looked thorough, interesting and i love that the fact that grammar and mechanics are included as i agree that they are best learned and remembered when taught within the context of their usefulness

Can this be shared between two students or do they have to have a copy of their own? Could we use a spiral notebook for their assignments? I have a 9 year old and 14 year old. :-)

BEST ANSWER: Writers in Residence can be used by two students, but there are a number of pages that need to be filled out. You could simply make a copy of the pages necessary for both students and keep their writing projects in a 3 ring binder. If you like using a spiral notebook, Keep it in the binder as well.
