Description

This 2022 edition is the Big Box version with revised artwork and all expansions included! Port Royal is a quick to learn, easy to play card game for 1-5 players ages 8 and up, which makes it great for family game night. In addition to the core game, and expansion decks, co-op instructions and solo modes are available in this edition as well as a repeatable campaign.

Cards serve two different purposes in this game.

  1. Coins: Each card has a coin on its back and once a player draws them into their hand, they are worth one coin each toward the purchase of cards to put in play.
  2. Cards to play to the table: During the first phase of the game, cards become part of the harbor display that players purchase with coins in the second phase.

The goal of the game is to play cards to your player tableau to accumulate influence points. Once any player has twelve influence points, the game-end triggers. When the current round is finished, the person with the most points wins the game! Game time varies depending on expansions and game mode played with the core game taking 20-50 minutes. This game box packs many hours of varied plays and its quick action, nice price point as well as adaptability for different player counts makes it a winner!
