Oil Paint Medium

Part of the uniqueness of oil paints is the medium you use, which complements the character of oil paints. Watercolors use water, and oil painting requires an oil mixture for similar use. We recommend mixing equal parts of Damar Varnish, Linseed Oil, and Turpentine. You don't need a lot of this mixture per painting, but a good idea is to mix the same amount of each of the three components together and store the mixture in a separate container. Then simply pour a small amount into another container when you are actually painting. Hence, you have one third of each ingredient for a smooth oil medium.
