Population Maps

This 35" x 50" wall map gives a fascinating perspective of the world. Laid out on a grid-patterned background where 1 square is equal to 1 million people, the rough political outlines of the world are recognizable - though somewhat distorted because of the focus on population rather than land area. With each country represented proportionately by population, China and India dominate the map, and the relative sizes of all other countries are easy to see. Printed along the bottom are some notes about world population and five smaller maps showing estimated populations 100,000(?!) years ago, at 0 AD, at 1650, at 1900, and at 2150. Two other maps show a hobo-dyer equal area projection and a population density map. A really great visual reference tool. Zach
