Flip the Flaps

More advanced than lift-the-flap books, these are the bigger kid version! Kids see three questions, then turn the flap (like a half page) and see the answers. The flap also has a continuation of the realistic illustrations throughout the book. It's a bit like a little bonus page between full pages, and it makes these books engaging and interactive. The information is brief and interesting. For example, in the Creepy Crawlies book we learn that butterflies feed on flowers and suck up their food through a long, hollow mouth. The questions then ask, "How many eggs do butterflies lay?" Flip the flap and find out that some lay one at a time while others can lay hundreds on one leaf! The questions give kids a chance to show what they know and learn something new. 18 full pages each, pb ~ Sara
