Making Good Choices
In each story, children choose their own adventure in social situations: 4 opportunities to choose what the character’s next step should be. Your child then gets to vicariously experience the logical positive or negative consequences of each decision. The series’ diverse characters face dilemmas in familiar locations (playground, the home, etc.). The social interactions are common as well: handling “gone-wrong” situations, following parent’s directions, choosing between self- or other-centeredness, and more. As your child reads, they decide how the character will respond, turning to a different page based on their answer. Will Margo go clean her room or watch cartoons? Will Ben speak to the girl using a wheelchair or ignore her? This engagingly illustrated series from Amicus Ink includes a handful of “Think Again” questions at the end and is written at Lexile 490-590. 9 1/4"x 8 1/2”. 24 pgs, pb. ~ Ruth
