What a lovely bell-ringer/warm up/morning basket activity! Each grade level book has a daily reading selection (fiction and non-fiction) followed by comprehension questions. You could read these together as a group and discuss your answers too. A written response at the end of the week asks the student to look back at the passages and respond creatively to a prompt.
