These consumable student pages work on consonant blends such as cl, pl, br, tr, sk, sn, thr, str, and more. Each exercise is on its own page to avoid being visually overwhelming to the student. Simple instructions at the top of the page reinforce what the student is seeing online. Paper resources in the back can be cut out and used in the lessons. This workbook also follows the VAKT format for mastering and using consonant blends and recognizing the sounds the blends make. Fluency drills, sight words and controlled readers are also included. This teaches phonology, orthography, and phonemic manipulation.

MaxScholar is an online Orton-Gillingham ELA program. These various skills workbooks support the lessons for PK-2nd grade. The books are consumable and specific, allowing a parent/teacher to target reinforcement and practice as needed for a particular student. These are not an essential component to online learning. Online access sold separately.*
At this level, all topics have both a Teacher’s Manual and Student Workbook.
Teacher’s Manuals explain how to coordinate the books with the online instruction. These would be particularly helpful to a parent who is not thoroughly versed in the O-G method. Lessons are laid out nicely and are user-friendly. Spiral-bound, not reproducible.
Student Workbooks are black and white and designed to not be overwhelming. There are grayscale illustrations, and you might see references to resources found in the back of the book. You are also encouraged to make your own flashcards.
