Both the Unimat Basic and PLAYmake tools are reconfigurable for drilling, sanding, wood turning, and sawing and are powered by a strong 12V motor. The PLAYmake model works best with thin plywood, balsa wood, and soft wood and can be configured into a drill press, jig-saw, woodturning lathe, and sanding machine. The Unimat Basic is designed to work with wood, plastic, and soft metal and can be formatted as a handheld drill, stationary and handheld sander, jig-saw, and variations of wood turning machines. Both sets include safety goggles, screwdriver, and detailed instructions. The PLAYmake set also includes wood, so you can get started right away.
