Have you ever bought your kids a little bag of rocks as a souvenir only to open in the car and be completely mystified at what's inside? Yep, me too. One thing I love about these little specimen sets is that along with the quality specimens, each colorful pouch includes a business card size reference guide that includes the name of the specimen and simple description. For example, in fossils, the card identifies the gastropod as a pink spiral. Rather than offering colorful images, the reference card is black and white with each specimen identified by name in a square, and the identifying characteristic underneath. Children can then place the appropriate specimen on their card until each is identified! Not only is this a great gift idea, its also educational! A win-win for parents, grandparents, teachers, or anyone wishing to feed a child's learning! Specimens subject to change based on availability. Velveteen pouches measure approximately 3" x 4" with a draw string on top. Specimen size varies.
