Pretty good
My daughter really enjoys the Ziggy the Zebra interactive parts but tires of the coloring sheets week after week. Maybe a little more variety in the activity sheets would be fun?

Not a fan
I bought this to help my 5 yo learn her sounds better and for a start to beginning reading. I'm only half way through the program and I already do not like the order in which this curriculum is being taught. You don't teach the concept of syllables and compound words BEFORE a child can even sound out a three letter word by themselves. It makes no sense to do this when a child doesn't even have basic reading skills. The daily coloring pages seem boring and monotonous. The cards that go along with the rhyming games need to include a lot more variety! Don't use all the same exact pictures 3 or 4 days in a row. Maybe use half of the familiar ones and half new ones. No game is going to be exciting for that long if you're using the same cards every time. Outside of the rhyming games I thought the other games didn't do anything much to advance my child's concept of reading. She either was frustrating because she couldn't grasp the concept or bored. Also, I could have easily produced those letter coloring pages and made my own cards for a lot less than $80. I don't even pick up the teachers manual anymore because the curriculum is that predictable.

I taught my first daughter how to read with the Christian Light Learning to Read and Language Art program. I'm going back to this with my current daughter and will use this program as supplement so I don't feel like I completely wasted my money. The CL curriculum is so much more thorough and fluid. It's teaches reading through a smooth process and is usually not boring. It isn't colorful and full of games though, either. Since I can always incorporate games on my own this isn't a big deal.

I am a first time homeschool Mom. I didn't know where to start my Kindergartener with reading. I've heard great things about this curriculum. When I called with questions I was able to talk to someone right away. They answered all my questions and concerns. I am very excited and confident that this is the curriculum for us.

I love the idea of a multi-sensory program with cute animals to teach reading. Also, My kids will feel so much older reading books that read like chapter books instead of the short readers we are used to.

I didn't use AAR Pre-Reading with my older children but I wish I had. We started using All About Spelling and AAR around level 2 with the older children and they are wonderful. I learned spelling rules that I never learned.
