Description
Category Description for Streams Of History Series

This series, originally published in 1902, follows the development of Western Civilization from ancient times until the United States of the early 1900s. The intent is to show how history flows and how events trickle down to effect the future. From a Christian perspective, the books highlight the contributions of each culture and show how each era and civilization built upon the next to develop the Western culture we see in the US today (or at least, in 1902). The series itself recommends reading the books at certain grade levels, but they're all written at the same reading level and seem most suited for 6-12 grade. The "official" recommended grades are listed with each title. There are no pictures and little trivia, just the basic info about the time period covered, with commentary on the consequences. Written by Ellwood W. Kemp and edited by Lisa M. Ripperton, pb. ~ Rachel
