This series provides practice in standardized testing, reading comprehension skills, and student understanding of text with scientific themes. Each book provides 44 grade appropriate, high-interest, page-long nonfiction passages that include basic scientific facts. Passages include descriptions of various animals and what they eat or how they survive, weather and nature stories, descriptions of inventions and experiments, famous historical discoveries and scientists, and much more. Each of the passages is accompanied by five multiple-choice test questions that cover main idea, detail, vocabulary, and critical reasoning. Additionally, a list of several vocabulary words is included. Black and white sketches accompany the passages and students can either circle the correct answers, fill in the bubbles on the page, or fill in bubbles on a reproducible answer sheet (2 are provided so you'll have to make copies if you want more).
