Description
Amelia Bedelia is excited. She is going camping for her first time with the Rogers. She doesn't know anything about camping, but she will learn. First they have to catch some fish. Amelia Bedelia jumps into the water and catches a fish, then lets it go. Mr. Rogers is mad. "Why did you do that?" he asks. Amelia Bedelia is surprised. "You only said to catch it!" Mr. Rogers is still upset. So he sends Amelia Bedelia to set up camp. Amelia pitches the tent (into the bushes), and tries to build a fire. When the Rogers come back, they find out what Amelia packed for tent stakes and sleeping bags!
Publisher's Description of Amelia Bedelia Goes Camping (I Can Read Level 2)

Learn to read with the classic Amelia Bedelia!

Ever since Amelia Bedelia made her debut in 1963, young readers have been laughing out loud at the antics of this literal-minded but charming housekeeper.

Amelia Bedelia has never been camping in the great outdoors before. She's trying her best to do exactly as she's told, but pitching a tent is not the same as throwing it into the bushes, and catching a fish with your bare hands isn't easy. As usual, the mixed-up housekeeper makes this camping trip one hugely entertaining adventure. This Level 2 I Can Read is perfect for kids who read on their own but still need a little help.

Category Description for Amelia Bedelia (Icr Level 2)

Amelia Bedelia is always ready to help out, and her cheerful disposition and eagerness to please help to counteract the fact that she takes everything literally. And somehow, she always saves the day, despite all the havoc she causes. Amelia Bedelia books have long been favorites of early readers, as it's great fun to see the results of someone actually following instructions like "dusting the furniture," "dressing the chickens," and "drawing the curtains" to the letter!
