This is a good beginning microscope kit for your child. It includes everything you need to get started. “The World of the Microscope,” a 48 page Usborne book of experiments and microscope projects, is included along with 2 micro slides, 6 blank slides, 6 blank labels, 6 statical slide covers, 2 collecting viles, 1 stirring rod, 1 pair of tweezers, 1 spare bulb, 1 condenser lenses cap, 1 3X magnifier, an instructional manual, and a microscope. The microscope is plastic construction with 100X, 300X and 600X magnifications. Two AA batteries are needed for the light source and are not included. There is also a mirror so you can view slides with direct sunlight. I viewed the slides with this microscope and I thought they did a very nice job for being an inexpensive product. Please note that it is much easier to view items with the light than with the mirror. The view was clear and the microscope is easy to operate. Adult supervision is required, and this product is not recommended for children under 8 years of age. ~ Donna
