This abacus comes in a sturdy, self-standing frame. 100 beads in primary colors are strung in ten rows, each row with ten beads of the same color. 12" x 12" x 3". ~ Anh
We purchased the wooden abacus primarily as a math manipulative for our very visual 4 year old, but found that it is a great tool for kids of all ages. Our oldest is now 5, and uses it for addition and subtraction, and our youngest son is learning to count and learning his colors on it as well. It's definitely a wonderful product, very well made, and a great buy! I highly recommend it.
If you could only buy ONE math manipulative this is it! We have had ours for years and all of our kids used it-everything from identifying number/color patterns to addition to multiplication and division. The best part about it is that its self-contained. The beads never come off the structure so mom never has to worry about the baby "eating" the math project!
